Ikat fabrics

Ikat is a weaving technique in which the yarn is dyed before processing. The spools of thread are immersed in the dye bath. This allows everything from simple striped patterns to multicoloured geometric or complex patterns to be produced. And there is no reverse side. This technique has been around for centuries and the patterns are passed down from generation to generation.
