Fair and Social Responsibility Matter to Us
At Karlotta Pink, we are committed to sustainability, fair trade and social responsibility by working directly with producers and cooperatives wherever possible, without intermediaries. These partnerships are based on recommendations and personal contacts made during on-site visits.
Certifications, such as the Fairtrade label, are useful and transparent indicators of sustainability and fair trade. However, we also work with many partners who simply cannot afford this type of certification, even though they would objectively meet all the required criteria. Through these partnerships, we aim to contribute to sustainable development and support families working in the textile sector, far removed from the negative practices often associated with the textile industry.
Over the past few years, we have also met many wonderful people and discovered inspiring projects that have launched highly worthwhile development initiatives, which we are very happy to support.
Sustainability has many facets. In addition to environmental and economic aspects, the social component is especially important to us. We want our financial support to reach the people who truly need it. Helping people to help themselves is more sustainable and can make a real difference in the lives of local communities.
Cultural sustainability is equally important: only when people are able to earn a living from their craft, or rather their craftsmanship, within their own villages and communities do they not have to leave and risk exploitation in large factories. Otherwise, traditional production methods, patterns and colours could be lost forever.
